Privacy
Effective October 5, 2026. Road to Clear is intentionally local-first.
Tracker financial data
The current version of Road to Clear stores the information you enter into the tracker in your browser's local storage on your device. That includes values such as your loan setup, weekly contributions, reconciliation balances, and notes. The Road to Clear tracker does not require an account or bank connection, and this financial tracker data is not intentionally transmitted to Road to Clear servers by the application.
Backups
When you choose Export Backup, your browser creates a JSON backup file. You decide where to save it and whether to move or share it. Importing a backup reads the file locally in your browser.
Website analytics
Road to Clear includes privacy-safe event hooks for non-financial product events such as opening a page, starting the tracker, exporting a backup, or clicking a Coast Ahead link. No external analytics vendor is enabled in this build. The event hooks are designed so loan amounts, balances, APR, contribution amounts, and notes are never part of analytics events.
Coast Ahead links
Road to Clear contains promotional links to Coast Ahead. These links use campaign parameters so Coast Ahead can distinguish where a referral came from. When you leave Road to Clear, the destination site's own privacy practices apply.
Browser storage and offline use
Local browser data can be deleted by browser settings, device cleanup, private/incognito browsing behavior, or manual clearing. Road to Clear also uses a service worker to cache static app files for offline use after a successful online visit. Export backups periodically if your tracker history matters to you.
